Ovens

Living with clay can look a hundred ways in a hundred different lives. Earthen oven construction is one way Living Craft Project shares the techniques of building with clay-based materials. Oven building brings friends, family, or strangers together around the hearth- and good food! We offer on-site, weekend-long oven workshops at homes or schools to help people of all ages get their hands in the mud and learn to cook and bake in a timeless way. Earthen ovens are used around the world, from Canada to India, to create the unique foods of a thousand cultures. Many Americans taste pizza or bread from wood-fired ovens and recognize the delectable, authentic quality of this food. At Quail Springs, we take great pleasure in expanding the menu to soup, meat, cookies, vegetables, fish, grains, cakes… and on and on. Please contact us for more information on ovens and workshops, or to join us for a feast!
